Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my love of bourbon in food, drink, and travel. Hope you have a neat day!

Celebrate National Pi Day with bourbon pie

Celebrate National Pi Day with bourbon pie

Today is National Pi Day, so why not celebrate with a slice of Kentucky Bourbon Pie. It’s a southern classic, made with a creamy mix of chocolate chips and pecans. You’ll find it on the menu at many restaurants around Louisville, Kentucky, and especially during Derby week. It’s one of my favorite desserts.

The pie originated in Prospect, Kentucky at the Melrose Inn. It can be served hot or cold along with some whip cream on top. There are many variations on the Derby classic. Click here for a recipe from Kentucky Monthly.
